I'm from a very small town in East Texas. Very small. Population 4, 567 small.
Sweet little place indeed.
After college, I moved to Dallas, then Houston.
Great cities. Fast paced. Diverse. Cultured. And summer year round. Ahhhhhh..............
Now, I call Salt Lake City my home.
Beautiful. Energetic. Slightly granola (and weird), as my friend Becca would say.
Lots of Latter Day Saints.
Lots of Latter Day Saints.
And. So. Damn. Cold.
Cold six months out of the year cold.
(yuck)
But hey, I'll take it, for now. Its got its goodness to it.
And, I suppose it humbles me a bit.
Everyone needs a little of that right?
Winters are brutal, yes. But summer makes it all bearable.
Yes, Summer is happening here, won't deny that.
But the winters, well, they just suck.
Not sure I will ever get used to the cold. Perhaps its something I refuse to accept.
Why? I've never had to. Where I'm from, summers never seem to end. Maybe thats why people from Texas are so loyal.
Ever heard Texans are the nicest people?
They are.
Genuine. Kind.
Like no other.
Yeah, I'm proud. So what.

There's really no place like home.
